Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend Program 2024- Residential households on embedded networks

To ensure that the government continues to be responsive to Tasmanians' needs, the Renewable Energy Dividend has been extended to Tasmanian households who get their electricity supply through an embedded network under the Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend Program for 2024 only.

The Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend program provides a one-time payment of $250 for residential households that get their electricity supply through an embedded network in Tasmania rather than an authorised retailer. This includes caravan parks and retirement villages, where residents are billed separately for their electricity use.

If you receive your electricity bill from Aurora Energy, 1st Energy, Momentum, CovaU, Solstice Energy or Energy Locals, you do not need to apply to us – your payment will be automatically applied to your bill. Please contact your retailer for more information.

The program will open for applications at 2:00 pm on June 19, 2024, and remain open until 2:00 pm on October 31, 2024.

No applications will be accepted after the closing date.

Eligibility for residential customers

  1. Applicants must be on a metered supply of electricity in an embedded network (An embedded network arrangement exists if a customer pays for their electricity via their landlord through an individually metered connection rather than purchase electricity directly from an electricity retailer, like Aurora Energy or 1st Energy). These arrangements are common for permanent residents of caravan parks or retirement villages (but the program is not limited to these two types of facilities).
  2. The location where the electricity is being consumed on the embedded network must be the principal place of residence of the applicant.

Customers that do not receive an individually metered electricity supply (eg. a person renting a caravan sharing residential land and taking electricity from another connection), and as a result do not meet the definition of an embedded network for the Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend program, are not eligible to apply.
