Climate Change Reference Group
The Climate Change Reference Group was established in 2023 to provide strategic advice and feedback to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and Renewables, Climate and Future Industries Tasmania (ReCFIT). The reference group will support achievement of Tasmania's net zero emissions reduction target and build our resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Role
The role of the reference group is to provide a forum for:
- advice and feedback on key climate change strategic priorities
- information on emerging opportunities in climate change mitigation and adaptation
- timely communication and information sharing.

The reference group has held three meetings, on 3 May and 24 October 2023, and on 20 August 2024.

The reference group is co-chaired by the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, together with a delegate from the Premier's Youth Advisory Council. The reference group includes representatives from:
