Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension

The Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension (EBRFE) program was launched by the Australian government in 2025 and provides a one-time payment of $150 for all Australian households.

If your electricity is supplied by a licensed electricity retailer (such as Aurora Energy, 1st Energy, Solstice, Momentum, CovaU or Energy Locals), your retailer will automatically apply the bill relief to your electricity account and you will not be required to take any action.

If your electricity is supplied through an embedded network, where residents are billed separately for their electricity use, (such as a caravan park or a retirement village), you may be required to take action below.

The program will open for applications at 2:00 pm on 1 July 2025, and remain open until 2:00 pm on December 31, 2025.

No applications will be accepted after the closing date.

Eligibility for residential customers

  1. Applicants must be on a metered supply of electricity in an embedded network (An embedded network arrangement exists if a customer pays for their electricity via their landlord through an individually metered connection rather than purchase electricity directly from an electricity retailer, like Aurora Energy or 1st Energy). These arrangements are common for permanent residents of caravan parks or retirement villages (but the program is not limited to these two types of facilities).
  2. The location where the electricity is being consumed on the embedded network must be the principal place of residence of the applicant.

Customers that do not receive an individually metered electricity supply (eg. a person renting a caravan sharing residential land and taking electricity from another connection), and as a result do not meet the definition of an embedded network for the Energy Bill Relief Fund Extension, are not eligible to apply.

Did you receive a grant under the 2024 Supercharged Renewable Energy Program?

Customers on embedded networks who have received payments under the 2024 Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend program do not have to reapply, provided their circumstances have not changed since applying for the Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend.

You will have received an official letter and a confirmation declaration form to sign from ReCFIT, State Growth. Please read the letter, program guidelines, and the confirmation declaration form carefully. Please confirm your details, or provide any updated information, and mail the signed form back to Department of State Growth, attention: ReCFIT Concessions Team, GPO Box 536, Hobart Tas 7001 for State Growth to process your applications.

New applicants

For all other applicants, please apply for the Tasmanian Government’s Renewable Energy Dividend. The eligibility requirements for both programs are identical, so if you are successful for the Renewable Energy Dividend, you will automatically receive both payments.

For more information on the program, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions, and refer to the Australian Government’s EBRFE webpage.

Only one application per residential household on an embedded network is allowed under this program.

Applications submitted by a third party will not be accepted without evidence of permission in the application.
