The Energy Saver Loan Scheme is Now Subject to Remaining Funds
Due to overwhelming demand since the closure of the Energy Saver Loan Scheme was announced, the scheme is now reaching its funding capacity.
We remain committed to making the most of the Scheme’s remaining funding to support as many eligible Tasmanians to access the scheme. We will continue to accept applications until the closure date of Monday, 1 September 2025 at 11:59 pm, however the following conditions now apply:
- Approvals are no longer guaranteed and will be subject to remaining available funds
- Applications submitted from this point forward will be assessed in date stamp order
Vendors may continue to process existing applications until the previously announced closure date of Monday, 1 September at 11:59pm. However, applications will only be approved if there is sufficient remaining funding headroom available
The Energy Saver Loan Scheme has been offering Tasmanian households, small businesses and community organisations interest-free loans of up to $10,000 to invest in energy efficiency measures since October 2022.
When first announced, the scheme was expected to support up to $50 million in loan value and would operate for up to three years.
The success of the scheme has been such that the Government has already made available additional funding to extend the life of the scheme.
In fact, the scheme has now supported more than $60 million in loans – a total of over 7,300 individual loans to households and small businesses. However, the popularity of the scheme has been such that all the available funding is now exhausted.
